Clarence Earl Stranfield Memorial Plaque San Diego Community College

This plaque rest beneath a memorial Illawarra Flame Tree. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of it bloom right at hand, though I think that I might have. The tree and the plaque are a memorial Clarence Earl Stanfield. I tried to find more information for on him, but so far have not been able to. He had an obituary in the Union Tribune, but they only have obituaries on line for the last 365 days. So I will off to the library and maybe try to do some poking around on campus.

The text of the plaque is as follows.

Clarence Earl Stranfield
1930-1987

Befor you stands an Australian flame tree
Whose life connects with yours
Through the words you now read
The beauty of the tree,
The warmth of life,
Our thoughts, memories, and dreams
Shape an intimate triangle.

The tree lives in memory of
Clarence Earl Stanfield,
Master teacher,
And talented, loving, dynamic Man,

His soul opened to everyone.
His laugh reminded us to smile.
His courage ande vision
Encouraged others to bravery.

Cherish memory and sustain your vision,
Remembering the gifts and examples
Of teachers.

Warm to the embrace
That now embraces you.
